Daniela Vergara
Daniela has extensive experience in teaching and research, mainly in genetics and breeding programs, and numerous relationships as a consultant with bioscience and agribusiness firms in the western United States. As an emerging crop specialist, her job is to help New York’s hemp farmers and the Cannabis community thrive. Daniela is located on the Cornell AgriTech campus in Geneva to collaborate on work being done in hemp, hops, and other crops.

Snover-Clifts works to diagnose diseases for both NYS growers and Cornell researchers, including Chris Smart and Gary Bergstrom. The Plant Disease Clinic accepts samples for disease diagnosis on a fee per sample basis—a service that can be elevated online and in messaging. The lab will focus on the “unknown” hemp diseases, of which there are a lot, playing a critical role in solving these mysteries for growers and researchers alike.
